Gary and I were newlyweds when we rented the apartment attached to Doris's home. I moved in in October and we were married in Novemeber. Doris was a wonderful landlord and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. She shared wonderful recipes with me, because I loved to bake and Gary and I always loved her baking. She was also a good friend to my grandparents Esther and Lyle Parker who lived across the street from her. I loved listening to her wonderful stories and she always had something to teach me. We were still living there when we started our family, our first son was born while we lived there. Gary and I both have wonderful memories of her. I actulally have some recipes she wrote out for me of some of her delicious desserts and will treasure them always. We are both very sorry for your loss and will miss her.
