Doris M. Mote, 95, formerly of Central City, passed away to heaven on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Heritage Care Care in Globe, Arizona. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include a son, William C. (Sharon) Mote, II of Globe, AZ; 9 grandchildren, Richard Steggall, John Steggall, Cindy Bye, Patti Hagen, Linda Counter, Jeffrey Mote, Julie Alger, Joey Mote, and Jon Mote; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Margaret Annis of Central City.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Jerline Steggall; a great-granddaughter, Katie Counter; and siblings, Ellen Clayton, Walter O’Connor, and Kathryn Mercerelli.

Doris was born April 30, 1916, in Central City, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Bertha (Mann) O’Connor. She graduated from Central City High School in 1934. On January 10, 1934, Doris was united in marriage to William Charles Mote. He died May 2, 1975. She dedicated her life to her husband, family, friends, Camp Fire, scouting and also the Historical Society.
