The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Patricia Allard can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Patty Allard, a wonderful woman

I am sad for the loss of Aunt Patty. You were a wonderful aunt. I loved your gravelly voice, smile and Christmas notes. I believe you wore my Mom's wedding dress when you married Ray Allard. It is still pretty too. A simple long sleeve white satin dress with white lace over that. You were both very skinny too!

In the past couple of days I realized we both share the same middle name, Ellen. Your Mom, Ellen Ann Hayes Miller, gave you her name as a middle name. And my Mom and Dad gave me both my Grandma's names, Lida Ellen. We shared that and did not even know it? I imagine you did at one point but I never did.  In a  way, I am named after you too! That is very nice to know now.

I always appreciated you were close by when I lived in Iowa for 7 years while going to school. Luckily, I was not on the 7-year plan, I completed 2 degrees and began my career there. There was more than once that the Allard family pulled together to help me out. Thank you.

My most FUN memory is going out on your pontoon boat. I thought it was cruising the open seas. We had a really good time.

I know your brother Eddie and his lifelong wife Helen, would be so proud of how well you have been taken care of and would want to show their gratitude. I express that now to your children, your sister Kay and your caretakers on their behalf.

I will miss you Aunt Patty.

Love,
Lida Ellen Miller
