Obituary for Patricia Ellen Allard (Miller)

Patricia E. Allard, 80, of Ely, Iowa, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday. Burial: Cedar Memorial, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Jennifer (Jim) Haycraft of St. Petersburg, Florida; Jeff (Kelly) Allard of Cedar Rapids, and Allan (Susan) Allard of Ely; seven grandchildren, Sean (Megan) Allard of Iowa City, Jessica (Brady) Cooley of Eugene, Oregon, A.J. (Liz) Allard of Granger, Iowa, Whitley (Jordan) Lester of Cedar Rapids, Amanda Allard of Cedar Rapids, Kaitlin Allard of Cedar Rapids, and Eric Allard of Ely; and one great-grandchild, Emrie Lester; and one sister, Kathleen Schadduck of Buena Vista, Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Allard; daughter Kristine; two brothers Eddie and Al; and one sister, Marilyn.

Patricia was born on May 29, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Earl and Ellen (Hayes) Miller. Pat was a devoted wife, and loving mother, and doting grandmother. She loved life and passed that onto her children.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Unity Point Hospice.

The family can’t thank the team from Unity Point Hospice enough for their care, kindness and support they provided Pat and her family over the past few years.
