My Uncle Stan

I have lots of memories of Uncle Stan. They range from my earliest memories as a child when he would stop by my parents farm with his oldest son Corey to those Saturday nights when friends and I were headed out on the town and would see his truck up town and stop in to say "Hi" and end up chatting for hours about whatever. When the Linn County Fair rolled around you could bet that he would be there watching all of us Pflughaupt kids show our livestock and give us pointers from his days as an exhibitor. He would fill in milking for Uncle Jim when he was at the State Fair or gone on a very rare vacation. I remember when my parents wanted to add a screened in deck on their house and I was totally lost on where to begin. One phone call to Uncle Stan and here he came with tools in hand and years of carpentry knowledge and skill. He always took time to explain why something was done a certain way. He obviously was a great teacher as Corey took on carpentry as his profession. Stan was a quiet, kind and selfless man who expected nothing from anyone but would be the first to help a stranger. Uncle Stan I will miss you here in person and being able to see you, but your memory will forever live on in all of us who were blessed to have you as family and who will always love you so very much!
