Life Story for Theresa Helen "Theresa" Goedken (Lahr)

Theresa Goedken, 85, of Delhi was called home to the Lord, Monday, April 14, 2014.

Theresa was born October 12, 1928 in Worthington, the daughter of Nick and Mary (Krogman) Lahr. On November 20, 1952, in Sands Springs, IA, Theresa was united in marriage to Gerald Goedken. Gerald passed away in 2006.

Theresa was a devoted member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Delhi American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing cards. Theresa was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time each week with her daughters and especially the family gatherings. She was proud of and deeply loved all of her grandchildren. She was a loving caregive to Jerry and a truly devoted wife for all of their 53 years together.

Due to Holy Week Services, Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi, IA. with Funeral Mass following at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Theresa is survived by six daughters, Diane (Tom) Tucker of Cedar Rapids, Mae (Pat) English of Dyersville, Mary (Mark) Kronlage of Dyersville, Janet (Rick) Buckner of Hopkinton, Jeanette (Pat) Murray of Hopkinton, and Donna (Tom) Krapfl of Delhi; fifteen grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Tucker, Brad (Jen) Tucker, Robie English, Jen English, Gwen English, Emily Kronlage, Tim (Shelby) Kronlage, Jackie (P.J. Holden) Kronlage, Kelly Buckner, Jared Murray, Stacey Murray, Luke (Amanda) Krapfl, Kayla Krapfl, Mandy Krapfl; three great-grandsons, James, Jude and Matthew Tucker; three siblings, Clarence (Adella) Lahr, Mary Jane Felton, Alvin “Bud” Lahr, and a brother-in-law, Nick Beck.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2006; siblings, Veronica (Henry) Russ, Margaret (Tom) Oehler, Loretta Lahr, Rose (Wallace) Nehl, Joe (Isabelle) Lahr, Al (Germaine) Lahr, Nick (Mary Jane) Lahr, John Lahr, and a brother-in-law, Joe Felton; in-laws, Carson (Adaline) Thompson, John (Ester) Luensmann, and Marie Beck.
