Obituary for Blanche Luella Fuller (Fleming)

Blanche Luella Fuller, 85, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Central City, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the care center. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Vicki Englemann. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Inurnment: Blodgett Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include her children, Marla Henderson of Central City, Bill Fuller of Central City, Ray (Pat Birch) Fuller of Cedar Rapids, Edie Adamson of Missouri, Liz (Ron) Forde of Toledo, Judy (Duane) Leek of Toledo, and Pam (Butch) Chesmore of Urbana; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and 5 more on the way.

Also surviving are her sister, Edith (Grover) Taylor of Rowley; her brother, Richard (Anita) Fleming of Lisbon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her son, Harry; and eight siblings.

Blanche was born April 21, 1928, and raised in rural Central City. She was the daughter of Patrick and Ada (Taylor) Fleming. On August 13, 1946, she married Harold Fuller. He died in 1985. Blanche was a homemaker while raising their children and later worked as a housekeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital for 25 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Blanche.
